Zine Projects

Below are some of the zines I was the main coordinator for. I hosted these projects and helped bring them to life. During these projects, I created a variety graphics and formatted all files for publishing. I was in charge of monitoring various individuals and their progress, responding and sending out various emails, and numerous miscellaneous duties involved in assuring that the projects ran smoothly.

FAQ

Don't you have a helper to help you with all these projects? They're so many!

I got my handy, dandy helper Blu (@BluBat_) to help me out! She's usually behind the scenes helping me answer and send emails, among other things, and always there to keep me in check from taking on too many projects at once. :)

I would like to participate in [zine project]. How can I participate?

Please follow the zine's tumblr or twitter account for updates on when public artist or writer applications open. Thanks for your interest!

Would I be able to participate in [zine project] as a potential guest artist?

We're always looking for new artists to invite to our projects! If you're interested in participating in a future project, please email me your portfolio and what series you are most likely to participate in (jotting down your favorite characters would also be helpful)! If a future project of mine aligns with your work and interests, I'd be happy to work with you!

Where do you get [item] printed/made?

Unfortunately, I prefer not to disclose that information. However, please check out this blog for any questions or resources on how to make certain items. I use it all the time and most of the services I use for my items have most likely been mentioned on this blog. Hope it helps!

Do contributors for your projects usually get compensated?

Yes! If the zine will be physically sold, I like at least providing all participants with a complimentary/free copy of the zine they participated in with free shipping. Even if a project doesn't generate any profit, all expenses come out of my own pocket. I will forever and always do my best to get each creator a copy.

If a creator drops out last minute, can they still participate in a future project?

It depends. If a contributor dropped out last minute or never responded to any of my various my emails (basically ghosting me), they will most likely be blacklisted. Unfortunately, once you have been blacklisted, you will receive an automatic rejection email.

Can we sell our zine piece at cons?

Of course! Once all orders have been shipped out, you are allowed to sell your piece at conventions. If you ever want to sell your piece at a con though, before pre-orders have been shipped out, please contact me first about this so we can reach a decision. If you sell your piece at a con before pre-orders ship and without prior contact with me, it will make me less likely to work with you in the future.
